Length of Panel Presentations
Panel presentations are a maximum of 20 minutes long, with 10 minutes for discussion. There will be a question-and-answer period after each individual presentation, except where indicated otherwise in the program. If a participant runs over the 20-minute maximum, the extra minutes will be deducted from the question-and-answer time.
Booking Hotel Accommodations
A block of 50 group-rate double queen (two beds) and king rooms (one king-size bed) rooms has been reserved for conference guests at The Phoenix Inn, 850 Franklin Boulevard, Eugene, e-mail email@example.com, tel. +1-800-344-0131. The Phoenix Inn is located at the edge of campus and within easy walking distance to the conference venues. Both types of rooms are available at $109 per night from Thursday night, September 27, with check-out on Sunday, September 30. The room rate includes breakfast, wifi, free parking, and an indoor heated pool and spa. When making a reservation, state that you are with the “Slavic Conference” at UO, in order to receive the group rate. (Reservations can also be made at the hotel website at https:/phoenixinn.com/eugene/, but there is no option there to reserve at the conference rate.) **Because the number of reserved rooms is limited, make sure to book early in order to receive the conference rate.**
**NOTE: If you choose to book lodgings with AirB&B Uber and Lyft are now available in Eugene as of September 15.
Transportation to Eugene
There are flights to the Eugene Airport with United Airlines from San Francisco and Denver; Delta from Seattle and Salt Lake City; Alaska from Portland and Seattle; and Allegiant from Los Angeles and Phoenix.
*If you are flying from another country, give EUG as the final airport destination for your check-in luggage. Make sure to pick up your check-in luggage at the first airport you arrive at in the US, go through customs, and recheck the luggage to Eugene on the other side of the customs area.
Ground transportation from the Eugene Airport to the Phoenix Inn: the hotel has free airport shuttle service by reservation 24 hours in advance. An alternative is the Eugene Omnishuttle van service, located next to baggage claim, which provides door-to-door service for $27.50 for an individual, or $27.50 for the first person in a group and $5 for each other group member. Taxis and rental cars are also available at the airport.
